Alanna's 10th birthday

Okay, so I realize that Alanna's birthday was 15 days ago and I am just not keeping up with this blog very well right now.  But, better late than never, right?

So, when we came home from our SD trip we stopped in Newcastle and celebrated Alanna's birthday on July 6th with Grandma Bonnie and Grandma and Grandpa.  Then we had to get home by 3:00pm for the orthodontist appointment she had requested be on her birthday.  After that, I took Alanna, Makenna, and two of their friends to Toy Story 3 and then we went to Pizza Hut.

Decorating her cake at Grandma and Grandpa's.

So proud of her very "sprinkly" cake.

Opening presents from Grandma Bonnie and Grandma and Grandpa.

Wearing some of her birthday presents.

Showing off her ipod at Pizza Hut!  She was so hapy to FINALLY get an ipod.

Unraveling the presents from Jessa that were all wrapped up in toilet paper.

Aww, finally a sweet picture of the girls.  It reminds me of when they were younger.

Giving Jessa a hug.

Hugging Makenna and thanking her for the itunes card.

So happy!

Trip to South Dakota July 2010

On July 1st we headed to Huron, SD.  We stayed at the Comfort Inn while we were there.  We visited Grandma and the farm everyday we were there.  We all had so much fun visiting family, setting off fireworks, and going to the races.  We look forward to going back next year, or, maybe even sooner!

Tuffy!  My new favorite dog.  He is my cousin Jason's dog and was the subject of many of my photos.

Watching some fireworks at the farm on Friday night.

Alanna feeding the hungry calf.

Pool time!

Makenna and Alanna with Tuffy.

The kids, and Bandit, and Tuffy.

The girls at the car races Saturday, July 3rd, in Huron.

At the races...I never remember the car races being so much fun when I was younger.  I do, however, remember falling asleep at the races in Rapid City when I was younger.

World's largest phesant!

Grandma giving us a tour of where she grew up.

Lining up for fireworks on the 4th of July at the farm.

Makenna and her new friend Sammy and Becca watching fireworks in 3D.

Breaking out the Bounce dryer sheets and gnat hats to keep the bugs away.  Nothing really seemed to help as the night went on.

Uncle Steve, Brad, the girls, and Grandma at The Plains.

Father's Day 2010

I realize it has been a long time since I have blogged, so I decided I should probably get this done.  On Father's Day, June 20th we went to Perkins for breakfast, worked with Brad in the yard, and then Brad helped the girls set up a tent in the basement.  We usually set the tent up on the deck for the girls in the summer, but it just hasn't been nice enough.  The night they set it up there were tornado warnings and thunderstorms.  What a great dad to let them have a tent in the basement instead!

New Truck

Brad went to Casper today to get the topper put on the truck.  The girls and I went garage sale-ing in the rain while he was gone.  It has rained here all night and all day.

This is Alanna's new favorite hat she found at a garage sale today!

???

Hmm???  I don't know?  Your guess is as good as mine.  On Saturday morning I looked out the window  and this is what I saw:

After I took these pictures he informed me he was fixing the sprinklers.

Makenna's 6th Grade Graduation

Makenna's 6th grade graduation ceremony was today.  Unfortunately, Brad was out of town and could not attend, but me, my mom, and Krista got to watch.  It was a nice ceremony complete with a guest speaker, diplomas, and a slide show (put together by Makenna).  Makenna says it doesn't really feel like she graduated since she has to show up for the last day of school tomorrow.  It's hard to believe I have a 12 year old headed into 7th grade next year!  It's only 6 years until I will be sobbing at her high school graduation!

Holding the sign made by Makenna's second grade teacher, Ms. Hammerquist.  Each class "adopted" a 6th grader and made special signs.

I had a pretty good birthday today.  I cleaned the house, did laundry, and took care of a sick kid.  Makenna stayed home from school today because she woke up with a fever and body aches.  Brad and Alanna had breakfast for me when I got up and then Brad and I got coffee and had lunch later in the day.  Tonight Krista and I went to the rec center for 2 hours and then Brad went with us for a drink at Applebee's.  All in all, it was a pretty good day, I just wish Makenna would have felt better.  She felt really bad that she was sick on my birthday but I told her I'm glad she was sick on my birthday and not hers.
