Super Bowl Spirit Day!

Today was Super Bowl Spirit Day at school for the girls. And, yes, we know the Broncos didn't make it to the Super Bowl but the girls didn't want to wear any other team. We bleed orange and blue! They had a lot of fun with painting their faces and their hair (I had to work today and they told their dad I said it was okay to paint themselves). Fortunately, he thought they looked cute and he took some pictures. At least I have something to blog about!

Haven't blogged recently

I know it has been awhile since I've blogged. There really hasn't been to much to blog about recently. We are making more progress on the living room. When it is completed I will post some pics. Thanks for checking our blog! I WILL post again!

It's Painted!

Brad got the wall textured yesterday and he painted it today. Now, one of these days we will have to hang a tv on it.

Makenna's First Band Concert

Makenna played in her first band concert tonight. They sounded really good, better than we probably sounded in fifth grade.
Unfortunately, the concert was held in the school gym. So here is what we saw of her concert:

Can YOU see Makenna?
Yes, we were pretty sure that was her up there. Whether or not she played, though, we'll just have to take her word for it.
Just kidding, I am sure she played. She practices alot and is a very dedicated band student.
Like Brad said, "I guess we didn't come to SEE them play, we came to HEAR them play."

AMEN! I passed!

YAY!! I finally finished my online class, and I passed my test on my first try!! The test only took me about 8 hours or so to complete; that's almost as long as it took me to go through the entire course work. I am sooo glad to be finished with that. I guess I will only revel in my joy for a short time because now I have to go take the ACLS class (that will probably be even harder). Well, I finished just in time to go pick up the girls from school. Better be going!

I've been busy

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately. I have been really busy with my online telemetry course. I worked on taking the final test yesterday for 4 hours and finally decided that I was confused. So, today I have an appointment to go in and talk to the instructor. (Darn QT intervals!)

Anyway, not much has changed with the wall. Brad did spray some texture on the wall last night but it doesn't really look much different. Hopefully he can get it finished up this weekend. Of course, we still need a tv to hang on the wall. He will probably get the wall finished and we won't have a tv to put up. Who knows, maybe we will have to hang a picture, a really big picture that we can arrange the furniture around so we can admire all the hard work Brad went to so we could have a new wall!

Hopefully I will finish this stinking test today so I can get busy taking pictures and blogging! Wish me luck!

A Visit with Great Grandma and June and Harold

Saturday afternoon when Alanna was finished with dance practice we headed over to Newcastle. Great Grandma Hein and June and Harold were visiting. We had supper and opened some Christmas presents and played cards.

A picture of the girls with Great Grandma Hein.

A group photo

While we were there the girls wanted to ride, I mean DRIVE, the 4wheelers. Once they got a taste of driving those ATVs over Christmas break they can't get enough of it and it is the first thing they asked about when we told them we were going to Grandma and Grandpa's for the weekend. Like Brad said today while we were watching them drive circles around us, "They sure are growing up fast."

When we got home, Brad got to work on the wall. Here is what it looks like now:

Progress Report

Well, here is what Brad got done tonight while I was at the dance studion with Alanna. It's starting to look more like a wall.

Hopefully, one of thes days I will have something more exciting to blog about! It sure will be nice when this project is finished. We will be looking for decorating ideas so, if you have any ideas for us please let us know!

And the winner is....

MAKENNA! She won the band challenge at her school over the break. Thanks to all of you who listened to her play, she couldn't have done it without you! For those of you who don't know about the band challenge, it was a contest for the band students to play 2 songs for as many people over the break as possible. She played for 32 people. She won a bag of M&Ms and a box of colored pencils.

Some Progress

Well, some progress has been made on the wall project. Brad moved the light switches from one wall to the back of the wall. It's a lot harder than it sounds. He has been working on it for few hours.

Not much else going on here. I go back to work on Thursday and Friday after being off for over 2 weeks. Not sure if I am looking forward to that or not.

Not Much Progress

Well, not much progress was made on the "project" today. Basically there was just a lot of standing around and talking when Dad came over tonight. There was talk about where to place outlets and light switches and what sort of wires to run in the wall; and, of course, there was daydreaming about how big of a tv we can hang on the wall when it is finished.

Today was also the first day of school for the girls after Christmas break. They were glad to go back but it was kind of quiet and lonely around the house today without them. At least I was able to get some work done on my online telemetry class.

Check back tomorrow, maybe there will be some progress to report!

Brad's New Project

Oh, boy! Brad has started another project. It's winter, and since it is too cold to do things outside he has found a new project to start inside. Tonight he decided to start cutting out a different doorway at the top of the stairs that will open into the hall. Then, he will build a wall where the banister is. He has been talking about doing this for about a year and he decided tonight was the night to start the project.

A Good Day for Pictures

Well, I don't really have much to blog about but thought that I should post something since it looks like more people are checking my blog and I want to keep it updated. So, I decided today would be a good day to take some pictures outside: it was 45 degrees with 25-35mph winds. We watched Skylar today and got some pictures of him, too.
