Miami Vacation Pictures: Day 4

Our fourth day of vacation...
We wondered around Lincoln Mall.

The girls played in the ocean.

I laid on the beach and took pictures...see my legs, they're the only picture I have of me being at the beach!
Brad and the girls loving the water, and me behind the camera snapping the pictures to prove it!

Makenna reading a new book on the beach.

Alanna sporting a pair of very fashionable shoes at Payless on Lincoln Road.
Diggin' the shoes she is wearing.

Makenna not happy that we wouldn't let her wear her new shoes standing next to me.  Notice how much taller I am?  Not sure why she thinks she's as tall as me?  I'd say I've got a least a couple inches on her!

See, even Brad isn't that much taller than me.

Makenna and I showing off our new shoes.

Oh, yeah, that's right, I'm wearing a 5 inch heel!!  Maybe that has something to do with my height?  Hmm, who would have guessed?  And, you will notice that I didn't get a picture standing next to Makenna without my shoes on!  Maybe next time, Makenna.  It won't be long and she won't even need heels to be taller than me.  She's only about 2 inches shorter than me and wears bigger shoes!  I guess now I can start wearing her hand-me-downs.  Oh, so many wonderful things to look forward to!!

Miami Vacation Pictures: Day 3

Our third day started just like our second day with an early venture to the beach and then a stop at Starbucks. On our walk from Starbucks down Ocean Drive, we saw this:
Notice the temperature!

The view down Ocean Drive.

Makenna and Alanna in front of a Banyan tree.
These trees were awesome!  The roots will grow right down from the top and end up being part of the trunk.

Eating dessert at China Grill.  Great food, great service and boy did we pay for it.  It was a very expensive lunch, but on the up side there were only two other customers in the entire restaurant the whole time we were there.

These are views from our hotel window:
These views were the only thing the hotel had going for it.  It was a very shabby, overpriced hotel, but the views were great.  Location, location, location!  Watching the sunrise over the ocean every morning while laying in bed was spectacular!

Eating at a Manhatten Cafe before going to the play.

Broadway billboard on our way to see Mama Mia.

Standing on the 5th floor balcony of the theatre.

Excited to see their first Broadway play.
Yes, this was our view of the stage from our 5th floor balcony (aka nose bleed section) seats.  We were just happy they still had tickets for sale only 2 hours before the show.  It was a really fun play to watch. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, us or the girls?

Miami Vacation Pictures: Day 2

Our second day started with an early trip to the beach.  I think we were on the beach before 10am.  One thing about it, there weren't many people there that early.  The water sure was cold, though (to me at least, but Brad and the girls thought it was warm enough to splash in).

Loving the waves!

After the beach we headed to Starbucks.
Makenna and Alanna outside Starbucks in the morning after the beach.

More Starbucks in the afternoon on a break during our Miami bus tour.  During the bus tour we drove through the Miami Financial District, Coconut Grove, and Coral Gables.

After the bus tour we took a tour around some of the Miami Islands: Star Island, Fisher Island, Hibiscus Island.  On the tour we saw celebrity homes from the boat and we also saw a dolphin!

Miami Vacation Pictures: Day 1

Waiting on the plane in Denver Monday morning at 6:30am.

Still waiting on the plane in Denver at 8:00am.

Still waiting..."Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking.  There seems to be a maintenance issue; the water for the sinks does not seem to be working.  So you will not be able to wash your hands or drink coffee on this flight."
This delay resulted in us literally sprinting through the Charlotte, NC airport from one concourse to another to catch our next flight.  Therefore, I have no pictures of our very short time in NC.

In the cab, on our way to our hotel in Miami.

We found the ocean on our way to find dinner!

Playing in the ocean on our first night in Miami.

Who does she look like?

Lovin' the sand between their toes!

We finally found food on Ocean Drive on our first night.

They were both in shock at the size of their pizza.
