Most Outstanding Twin Spruce Concert Band Member of the Year

Makenna had her last band concert of the school year tonight.  During the concert the director also handed out Most Improved and Most Outstanding Member of the year awards to each band.

Makenna was awarded the Most Outstanding Concert Band Member of the Year and she also lettered her first year in junior high band.  So proud of all her hardwork; it sure paid off!

Happy Mother's Day!!

The two reasons I love being a mother!

Today was a great day!  The weather was perfect for an 11 mile run this morning, a ride on the Harley in the afternoon, and playing volleyball with the girls in the yard this evening.  When I got home from my run Alanna had breakfast waiting on the table!  Later on Makenna made me some yummy carrot cake!  It was a perfect day!

Spotlight Casper March 18-20, 2011

Okay, so I know I am a few weeks behnind on posting this but, better late than never, right?
Anyways, here are some pics from our weekend in Casper at the Spotlight Dance Competition.

Outside of On the Border and Sanfords where we ate one night.  The girls just had to have their picture taken here.

Alanna dressed in her "Belle" ballet costume.

Alanna ready to tap!

Makenna in her solo costume, showing off her category winner ribbon and medal.  She placed ninth out of 32 teen soloists.  Not bad at all for her first year dancing in the teen solo division!  She danced to a song called "Frost."

Waiting to eat at Olive Garden

Aren't they sweet?

It was a long weekend filled with lots of good dancing!

A Busy Weekend!

We had a very long, busy day yesterday.  Brad and Makenna travelled to Casper for the Science Olympiad and I stayed in town with Alanna for her first AAU volleyball tournament.

Alanna at  her very first volleyball game.  Her team placed 4th out of 5.  It was fun to watch them play and improve with each game.  She had a lot of fun and she is NOT afraid to go after the ball!!  It was a very long day of playing, reffing, and sitting.  We were there from 8am-5pm; I didn't even play and I was worn out.

Makenna showing off her Science Olympiad medals.  She placed in all three of her events- first for her trebuchet, second in anatomy, and third in chemistry.  Her school placed third overall, their first placement in the Science Olympiad in five years!  Brad and Makenna got on the bus at 5:15am and got home just before 9 last night.  Needless to say, we were all exhausted by the end of the day.
