Saturday was the Children's Festival where Brad and the girls danced. I was only able to take a few semi-decent pics of Brad and Alanna doing their "I Can Dance" daddy/daughter dance. There are always so many people crowded around the stage that it is really hard to see anything at all. However, Makenna and I were able to get close for the Daddy/daughter dance.

Digging Out!
Well, it's the day after and now it is time to dig out after the storm. We went out this morning and took these pictures. People were out shoveling and trying to get their vehicles out of snow drifts. We saw lots of 4 Wheel drive trucks stuck on the roads by our house. I have no idea how or when I will get out of my garage.

Spring Blizzard 2009!
Well, our annual Spring Blizzard is upon us today. This storm has been forecasted since last week, and they sure got this one right! The weekend was beautiful: 70 degrees and sunny. What a difference a day makes! School was cancelled and Brad's office was also closed for the day. We have enjoyed our day home together; we made chilli and cinnamon rolls.
Brad's garage door opener is broken so he couldn't park his truck in the garage which made for some big drifts on my side of the driveway.
Miley went outside with us and had some fun trying to crawl over the drifts. She kept sticking her head in the snow banks, too, and I have no idea what she thought she might find.
We have a blizzard warning in effect until noon tomorrow; so, we will see what tomorrow brings. Here are some pictures I just took this afternoon.
Casper Spotlight
This weekend we went to Casper for the Spotlight Dance Competition. The girls did really well! We left Friday after school and got home Sunday night around 5pm. Alanna's first dance on Saturday was at 11am and Makenna's final awards ceremony didn't get over until around 11:15pm. It was a long weekend, but well worth it.
Alanna was in 9 dances:
Jazz

Ballet
Hip Hop
Solo
Interpretive solo
Daddy/Daughter
Production
Trio
Makenna was in 8 dances:
Jazz
Tap

Interpretive solo
Brad was in 1 dance:

I was busy running back and forth to the dressing room between the girls dances.
Makenna competed in the Miss Junior Spotlight competion. This is a competition where each contestant must perform a solo, give her bio, anwer a question and do a dance combo on stage in front of the judges. And..................................................................................................................
SHE WON!!!!! Out of 8 contestants she won the title of Miss Junior Spotlight. The look on her face when they played her solo music to say that she had won was absolutely priceless!
