It's Fall!

It is starting to feel like fall...cool weather and good food!

Sauerkraut with peppers, onions, and Morningstar sausage over mashed potatoes.  I made the sauerkraut for Makenna's Oktoberfest party in German class.

The best pumpkin bars ever (aka bars of perfection)!  You can find the recipe here.

Pear-apple sauce with cinnamon!  I made this from the abundant apples and pears I had from my last couple bountiful baskets.

Makenna's First Volleyball Game

Makenna played her first volleyball game yesterday, and they won!!  This is her first year of volleyball and she is loving it.  Now that she only dances once a week she has more time for other activites.

Yesterday as Alanna was heading out the door to school, dressed up and carrying her Cross Country duffel she said, "I can't believe I am carry this big old bag and I look like I'm dressed for formal."

Alanna started running Cross Country in the middle of August for Twin Spruce Junior High.  She is loving it!  They will have at least 10 meets this season.  We are so proud of her!

Vegas, Baby!

On Sunday, August 28th, Brad and I flew to Las Vegas for VMWorld 2011.  We stayed until Friday.  He had to go to his conference, but we still found time to have fun!  We went to a few shows, gambled, lounged at the pool, and did lots of walking!  We also got to hang out with some friends that we made at VMWorld two years ago.  It was a blast having another couple to hang out and tour the city with!

Our 12 year Wedding Anniversary July 30th, 2011

On July 30th, we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary!  We spent the weekend in Buffalo, where we celebrated Matt's 30th birthday at a surprise party.  Later that night we drove to Tie Hack and walked down by the dam. 

These are our "dam" pictures.  Brad wanted to make sure we had "dam" pictures of our 12th anniversary, so Makenna was kind enough to be our photographer.

We still love each other after all these "dam" years!
